EL BEIDA RAGLAN POLO

A piqué polo with raglan sleeves, white shirt collar and contrast trims, lettered El Beida with the national crest.

El Beida means the White. The name came from the sea: sailing in from open water, all you saw of Algiers was a mass of limewashed houses climbing from the port to the Casbah, with no visible opening. The lime was redone every year, by hand, façade by façade. It protected the walls, threw back the heat, and gave the city the only color it had from a distance.

The sleeves are set raglan, seamed from the collar: the shoulder stays free and the drape is softer than a standard set-in. White shirt collar on a three-button placket, matching sleeve trims. Piqué knit, straight cut.

Across the chest, El Beida in gold script with La Blanche beneath. Our crest on the left, the national arms on the right. Two colors: green and burgundy. Wear it with cream trousers, or raw denim.
