EL BEIDA STRIPED POLO

A waffle-knit polo, ecru-trimmed V collar and contrast stripes down the shoulders, lettered El Beida with the national crest.

In the Casbah the alleys are under two metres wide. The houses lean out floor by floor until they nearly touch, and from the ground the sky is a narrow band between two limewashed walls. That is what kept the city cool in August. It was built that way on purpose, for the shade: the streets of Algiers are drawn by what they let through.

The knit is waffled, with texture in the cloth. The collar is a V bound in ecru, with two matching stripes running from the shoulder down the sleeve. Boxy cut, dropped shoulders, roomy short sleeves.

Across the chest, El Beida in ecru script with La Blanche beneath. Our crest on the left, the national arms on the right. Three colors: brown, blue and black. Wear it with wide trousers, untucked.
