EL BEIDA WAFFLE POLO

A washed waffle-knit polo, open V collar with no buttons, lettered El Beida with the national crest.

The limewash on Algiers never lasted a full year. The sun ate it, salt air dulled it, winter rain pulled it down the façades in grey streaks. It was redone every spring, and for a few weeks the city was properly white — the rest of the time it turned grey-green, pale ochre, the color this polo came out of the wash.

The knit is waffled, with texture in the cloth and air between the yarns. It's garment-washed: the color shifts slightly from piece to piece, and that's the point. Open V collar, no placket, no buttons. Boxy cut, dropped shoulders, roomy short sleeves.

Across the chest, El Beida in ecru script with La Blanche beneath. Our crest on the left, the national arms on the right. Two colors: khaki and black. Wear it with wide trousers, untucked.
